Hi all.
Jim Kitchen just released a Simon game.
You can download it from his website at http://www.kitchensinc.net/
The game is in the sapi5 text to speatch link.
I found this game very interesting. I have seen some simon games in the past but this one is different because it has got a lot of areas somebody can play. From animal sounds, to guitars, piano, horns, phone tones, star trek sounds and much more.
I didn't understand the difference between a regular and a rundam level so if you try it maybe you can explain to me the difference.
Enjoy
Nikos

Ok i think now i can understand the difference between regular and random. At regular always each sound is represented by the same key. For example if we choose human sounds sneesing is number 3. But if we choose random it changes the number that represents each sound.
That's how i think it works anyway.

Thanks. I just recently went to his site to see if he had any new games, but this one wasn't there yet. I'm going to download it. I like Simon. I have to regular simon game. I think this one will be interesting, with all the different sounds and all.

Ok i will try and explain to you how to find it.
You go to his website and find the link which says click here for free sapi5 text to speatch games. In there Simon is the last game just before the link saying go back.
The file is called winsim.exe.
And to make things easier for you here is the direct address that you can download the game. Just copy and paste it in the open dialogue of internet explorer.
http://www.kitchensinc.griffithsgoodies.com/ttsgames/winsim.exe
I hope it helps.

Hi again.
Just to let you know that there is a new version of simon on the website.
This version uses wave sounds instead of dat files which some people were having problems playing the game. Now it should work fine.
Also there is version 9 of golf as well.
Enjoy.

I am also subscribed to his list. Just contacted him once to say that i like his games and i was suggesting that it would be good to have a mailing list so we knew when a new game was out and he said that he already had one.
So if you send him an email and ask him i am sure he will be glad to put you in his list. He seams very friendly to me.

I know how to install and play the games but i am not sure if i can explain it well lol. But i could try.
When you download a game if you run the file you downloaded a self extract window starts and you have to press the unzip button. If you press that the files probaply will be in c:program fileskitchensinc
All his games go in this folder. I personally wish he had subfolders with each game because the way they are all in there together is a bit untidy i would say but all the files for each game would have simmilar names like simon1, simon2 etc.
To be able to play a game you have to run the .exe file for each game. If you download the game of life a game menu comes with it which helps you run the games easier.
The first version of life puts shortcuts in your start menu but the second version just puts the files in the main folder without shortcuts.
I personally installed the second version and created a shortcut on my desctop for the game menu and i can run the games this way.

So the easiest step would be to download the first file in his website and install it because it contains the game menu with shortcuts. Then download any other games you want.
Then go to your start menu, programmes, kitchensinc or something like that and start the game menu and you can choose what you want to play.
I hope it makes sence. I know it is confusing at first.
